What a lovely route in the dark..
Well, we mostly marshal Tri Counties so it was lovely to have a jog out. With plenty of familiar faces, but it wouldn't be the same without a dilemma which today, was the sole coming off my trainer 20 minutes before the start. I cannot thank Charlie on registration and finish line enough for lending me her size 5s.... My feet are size 6 but hey, I'd have struggled barefooting it. Loved the bottle of veeno mid route for us alcoholics and with plenty of snacks from Ali in the barn we were adequately stuffed and topped up with mulled wine at the finish. Another super run by Mike Simpson, thanking you!

Loved it
This my first ever run over 10k distance, wasn’t sure what to expect but I loved it !! Thank you

Excellent route
An excellent route. Started off in the light and got progressively darker - perfect time to start and finish.
Great atmosphere, really friendly. Thoroughly recommend this event. Would also give great views in the daytime, if you are considering a summer event

What a night
My very first 10k and of course I thought doing it in the dark was a good idea! What a place to run, trail running for me is difficult and not something I’m used to so I did manage to roll my ankle pretty well in one of the forest bits I did wonder if I’d actually hurt it more where I would have been able to find medics as they were quite spread out but I’m sure if I hadn’t been able to carry on we would have found out.
The half way pit stop was wonderful and I absolutely didn’t have as many snacks as I should have so I would definitely stop for more Jaffa cakes next time! It was also lovely to have that little boost in the middle.
I needed to be more prepared myself slippy wise even though the weather was actually very kind to us.
My only issue was that you hit the 10k marker and it’s not over! There’s still further to run and I was unclear as to where the finish line actually was! Lovely people though , will absolutely be back with much more strapped up ankles next year!!!!!
Hi Holly, I'm so pleased you enjoyed the event, quite a baptism of fire for a first trail run, as the route was pretty technical at times, especially at night! I completely understand your comments about the last small section. The sheep were only moved out of our side an hour before the start, as they needed to remain in the field until the last moment because the feeders were there. Therefore we were a bit rushed to get t6hat last section set up. I fully understand it could have been improved, and also the fact incoming runners were facing cars departing the site was not perfect. It is a new venue, so many lessons learnt. Regarding the distance it's virtually impossible to make trail events bang-on, and those who have run with us before know this! Bonus distance!

Love it! Will be back next year.

Anxiety of turning up as a singleton to fun and creating new friends

A great event

Great route with added difficulty and fun of being in the dark!
Some parts were not very clearly marked and could have taken a wrong turn, the ending was also not well marked. Being in the dark was great but it does worry me that there were big patches without any people there and the crowd separated out quite a bit that if there was an injury that could lead to some potential problems. May need a few more volunteers spread around the course when it gets particularly dark.

Enjoyable

My favourite Tri-Counties event of all.

Amazing run, will be back next year
Please add brighter and more lights along the course so we don't get mixed up and lost. I struggled a bit to find the finish across the field. Other than that it was really amazing and will definitely be back

A run is what you make it, this Dark Dorset run was fun. Both myself and Uncle enjoyed it and met some lovely runners on the route.
Could have done with more marshalls to light the way or direct you near the end to be able to see or know which direction to go.
Amanda Ansell
Very enjoyable and a good course
Only small criticism is that I came in towards the back and was very confused about where the finish line was ! Maybe a few more signs or directions would have helped.
Alex Bowma
Welcoming
Vivien Mason
Fabulous
What a great race trail running at its best.
Jo Sydenham
Great fun
Maybe just some more lights at end to show you where to run to finish - was a bit confusing
Kelly Summers
Lovely trail race!
Really enjoyed this event, something different all the way around. My only aspect for improvement was the last part of the race coming around the car park, it wasn't lit enough to see where you had to go to the end!
Donna Rendell
Amazing course, loved it !
Would benefit from better signage near the finish otherwise it was fab
